Ashley Paredez

Career Highlights

Ashley Paredez is an award-winning journalist with more than nine years of live, on-camera experience. Most recently, she worked as a reporter for Good Day at FOX 4 News in Dallas. She mainly covered hard news, crime and breaking news events, including the string of tornadoes that hit North Dallas in October of 2019. She was asked to deliver a live report about the extensive damage on FOX & Friends.

Ashley has a passion for telling stories and often, those stories have come directly from the viewers she serves. During the COVID-19 pandemic, a detention officer working at the Dallas County Jail entrusted her with his health and safety concerns. She contacted the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department and was able to uncover the outbreak of coronavirus cases among staff and inmates. She received exclusive information and interviews with the sheriff about safety protocols being taken, including the early release of some non-violent offenders. Her reports also led to quicker action in the distribution of personal protective equipment within the jail.

Prior to that, Ashley was the weekend evening anchor and a nightside reporter for FOX 7 Austin. She assisted with writing and producing newscasts, along with presenting enterprise stories. Ashley is not the type of person to just sit behind the desk, she wants to be involved in the news she shares. She was anchoring the night Tropical Storm Harvey hit Houston. Minutes after the show, she asked the assistant news director to send her there to report on the impact and devastation. She ultimately became the FOX O&O reporter that week, providing dozens of back-to-back live reports and stories to news stations across the country. That was despite her limited resources and battling extreme conditions. She was also assigned as the FOX O&O reporter during other breaking news situations, including the deadly church shooting in Sutherland Springs and deadly package explosions in Austin.

Ashley's career began in Amarillo as a morning producer. Within two and a half years, she took on many other roles. She ultimately became a weekday morning anchor, breaking news reporter and executive producer. She worked hard as a newsroom leader, even helping her news director re-brand the morning show in order to increase viewership. The show quickly became top in the market and received recognition with articles pointing to its success.
